Job Summary:

Master's level position providing therapy, assessment, and coordinating of services for both children and adults in an outpatient clinic setting. Also provides guidance to peers in absence of Manager, has some monitoring of charts duties and some duties related to the electronic health record. Position requires, at a minimum, a master's degree in a mental health related field. LMHC, LMFT or LCSW is required. Position requires at least 2 years of past supervisory experience.

  • Ability to train and supervise outpatient therapy staff in the implementation of mental health and substance abuse services in a community mental health setting.
  • Ability to assist clients in the management of the psychosocial aspects of chronic disease through mental health therapy and support.
  • Ability to assist clients to implement behavioral principles to improve lifestyle and health risks through mental health therapy (individual, group and family) and through the use of evidence based practice approaches.
  • Ability to provide consultation and management of mental health and substance abuse disorders to clients and therapy staff.
  • Ability to assess immediate risk and provide assistance in crisis situations.
  • Ability to implement or assist in ongoing support/educational groups.
  • Ability to problem solve minor client and staff issues.
  • Ability to complete ongoing progress notes and other necessary documentation through an electronic health record in a timely manner.
  • Ability to generally understand the psychopathology of both adults and children as it relates to the DSM diagnostic manual.
  • Ability to make appropriate internal and external referrals
  • Ability to assist with all administrative and clinical duties as directed by the program manager
  • Ability to appropriately complete behavioral health status exams, biopsychosocial evaluations and treatment plan.
  • Ability to complete quality reviews of patient records on a weekly basis.
  • Position requires that the individual is in compliance with the standards set forth in the outpatient performance plan
  • Position requires that the individual maintain all mental health credentials and licensure.
  • Position requires that the individual maintains compliance with all PRC training requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's degree in mental health field required.

Experience:

At least 3 years in the mental health field.

Certifications:

LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Position requires that the individual have excellent communication skills to provide supervision of staff as directed by the program director.
  • Position requires a high quality of written and verbal capabilities.
  • Individual must be capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Position requires flexibility and the ability to prioritize various job functions.
  • Must be able to work effectively with staff in a community behavioral health center.
  • Must maintain Florida License in good standing.
  • Position requires that the individual is capable of providing treatment for co-occurring disorders or is willing to learn the required techniques and interventions to provide therapy.

Supervisory Relationship(s)

Direct supervision of outpatient staff in conjunction with the Program Manager.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
