The Interim Senior Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) provides direct clinical services and discharge planning to adults and children in inpatient services. In addition, this position completes monitoring and compliance tasks and provides direct support to the Behavioral Health Specialists and Therapists in the inpatient units including but not limited to: initial and ongoing training and coaching, documentation review, case staffing, covering of direct services, scheduling and other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Nursing or Individual Facility Administrator.

Essential Requirements:
- Conduct CSU crisis assessments/interventions which include assessment of co-existing issues
- Provide individual and family counseling for CSU clients and their families
- Facilitate a coordinated team approach in working clinically with CSU clients
- Conduct family meeting as needed
- Assist in training clinical personnel
- Provide collateral contacts and coordinate with various service providers to provide for continuity of care
- Conduct treatment planning/discharge planning reviews with CSU clients
- Provide crisis interventions, including co-existing disorders
- Conduct follow-up assessments/contacts
- Concisely and correctly complete clinical documentation and related paperwork in a timely and professional manner
- Review Baker Act certificates that come to the CSU
- Facilitate CSU client discharge process
- Conduct risk assessments on CSU clients
- Provide peer reviews and constructive feedback for other CSU Clinicians
- Assist with clinical reviews of seclusion/restraint implementation
- Act as liaison with other PRC programs and other service providers within the community at large
- Assist in development and implementation of day treatment activities and therapeutic groups for CSU clients
- Coordinates clients' care with Physicians/ARNPs and Nursing team for continuity of care
- Ability to arrive to work and ready to work on time.
- Ability to commute between the CSU campuses to provide clinical support as needed
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week to include weekends in accordance with the clinical staff rotation
- Participation in the interview process for clinical personnel candidates
- Provide clinical support when necessary to supplement staff shortage

- Review clinical documentation/charting for compliance with outcome measures, clinical goals, Florida Statute and meeting Joint Commission requirements.
- Completes training of new team members and conducts ongoing training with team members.
- Coordinates with Facility Administrator to schedule clinical team at level sufficient to provide safe environment for the clinical needs of clients
- Assists with completing timesheets as needed, approving/tracking PTO requests, and maintaining schedule coverage.
- Communicates and works collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, payers, and other external and internal vendors, so that expected patient and program outcomes such as appropriate utilization of services, levels of care, and alternative discharge arrangements are achieved.
- Documents per departmental protocol such that a clear picture of the patient, his/her needs, plans, current status, financial/insurance information and the interventions used are noted in a concise manner that also reflects confidentiality and respect.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in mental health related area required.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) year experience working in a social service field. Will consider volunteer experience. Prefer 2-3 years' experience working with individuals with mental illness.
Certifications:
LMHC/LCSW preferred

Work Environment:
Fast paced work environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions such as communicable diseases and physical/verbal abuse from an out of control patient/client.
