Job Summary:

The Domestic Violence Outreach Manager is responsible for: coordinating domestic violence outreach services; managing deliverables from multiple contracts; acting as a professional resource within the community for training and teaching purposes; providing excellent supervision and oversight of outreach staff; being a link between Victim Services and many contract partners; providing direct services, feedback or consultation as needed; as well as timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. The Domestic Violence Outreach Manager must have superior knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence as well as demonstrated supervisory capacity. This position also assists in strategic planning for Victim's Services as well as grant acquisition, audit compliance, and budget processes.

  • Core Duties:
  • Coordinate domestic violence outreach services, providing excellent supervision and oversight of outreach staff
    • Use performance management process to interview, hire, and evaluate professional staff performance.
  • Maintain and coach domestic violence staff regarding organizational core competencies and programmatic expectations.
  • Meet bi-weekly with direct reports for supervision with written documentation of meetings.
  • Coordinate professional staff meetings with appropriate/required training monthly or on as needed basis to enhance knowledge/skills and a cooperative team spirit.
  • Maintains empowerment based philosophy with professional staff and program participants.
  • Supervise and submit time sheets in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all decisions regarding direct services are focused on maintaining safety, respect, and dignity of all who enter the program or work with program participants.
  • Facilitate resolution of staff and participant's complaints through established policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality, appropriate victim services that meet Peace River Center's Victim Services standards.
  • Promote and maintain policy and procedures of Peace River Center and Victim Services to ensure victims services are provided in compliance with Peace River Center's Victim Services policies, procedures and quality standards.
  • Proactively provides input for program development and shows positive leadership at all times.
  • Must maintain confidentially of all management issues at all times.
  • Maintains weekly or as needed contact with Director to resolve management issues.
  • Maintain flexible schedule that meets program needs. Responds to PRC cell phone and email in a timely manner.
  • Act as a professional resource within the community and the agency for training and teaching purposes
  • Act as a link between Victim Services and many contract/community partners
    • Professionally represent Victim Services and Peace River Center at all assigned meeting/trainings for domestic and sexual violence task forces to ensure appropriate coordination of service delivery and victims' assistance with community partners.
  • Provide direct services, feedback or consultation as needed
    • As needed respond to hotline calls, provide direct services to program participants as well as other victims who use our services, provide outreach groups.
  • Managing deliverables from multiple contracts and coordinate timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
    • Participate in timelines, projects, and deadlines for appropriate grants
  • Supervise statistical reporting and submission of program reports in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in budgeting process, monitor departmental budget, expenses.
  • Must learn, understand and carry out all Domestic Violence Program Procedures.
  • Know, understand and respect participants' rights.
  • Shift assignment will be flexible with occasional evening and weekend work required and occasional need to fill in on other shifts due to vacancies, illnesses and vacations.
  • Attend all scheduled work hours, meetings, trainings, and other center functions, including on-call as required.
  • This position may be assigned additional "position duties" by a supervisor, other than those listed as is consistent with business necessity.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the DCF state-mandated background and screening requirements.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related human services or equivalent life experiences.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with state and federal grants preferred.

Certifications:

  • None

Training:

  • Training and experience in domestic violence.
  • 30 hours FCADV Core Competency training (provided)
  • 30 hours FCASV ACT training (provided)
  • Other annual trainings as required by PRC, FCADV & FCASV.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software package.
  • Demonstrated teambuilding skills.
  • Demonstrated planning skills.
  • History of regular work attendance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of community resources, especially in areas of housing, training and employment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-start.

Transportation:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Will drive personal vehicle for job duties:
    • Must be over 21 with a FL driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must carry & maintain $50,000/$100,000 bodily injury coverage on personal vehicle and provide proof of coverage annually.
  • Will drive a PRC vehicle:
    • Must be 25 years of age with a FL driver's license and clean driving record.

Supervisory Relationship(s)

  • Reports to Director of Victim Services
  • Supervises all Domestic Violence Outreach & Specialized Advocates
  • Meets individually with supervisees on a bi-weekly basis to manage program needs and evaluate any training needs or issues of professional staff.

  • Work Environment:

    The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
