Job Summary:

The therapist will be responsible for providing therapy and assessment services for both children and adults, while focusing specifically on the family, child, and adolescent populations. This position requires the individual to have a master's degree in a mental health field. Preference will be given to individuals who are registered MHC, MFT, or MSW interns and actively pursuing licensure or have received their LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW credentials. The DSM is to be utilized to determine the mental health diagnosis of the child and therapeutic/clinical interventions needed. Depending upon the client need and eligibility, services may be provided in the office, in- home, at daycare, in the school system, other community setting and/or via telehealth.

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:

  • Ability to arrive/report to work on time and ready to work.
  • Attend all scheduled work hours, meetings, trainings, and other PRC functions in compliance with full time PRC employment

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as deemed necessary through evidence based practice approaches.
  • Complete ongoing progress notes and other necessary documentation through an electronic health record in a timely manner.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Make appropriate internal and external referrals.
  • Conduct and complete Biopsychosocial evaluations.
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • The position requires that the individual maintains compliance with productivity standards of the department.
  • Position requires that the individual maintain all mental health credentials and licensure.
  • Position requires that the individual maintains compliance with all PRC training requirements.
  • Position may require other tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's degree in mental health field required.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in the mental health field.

Certifications:

  • LMHC or LCSW preferred.
  • Professional enhancement training annually including all required PRC training

Training:

  • Will be provided by PRC for organization information. Program specific training will be provided by program supervisors.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Position requires that the individual generally understands the psychopathology of both adults and children as it relates to the DSM diagnostic manual.
  • Position requires that the individual is capable of providing mental health diagnoses using DSM criteria.
  • Position requires that the individual can perform therapy with a variety of modalities to include evidence based practice approaches.
  • Position requires that the individual is capable of providing treatment for co-occurring disorders or is willing to learn the required techniques and interventions to provide the therapy.
  • Position requires that the individual possess a high quality of written and verbal capabilities.
  • Position requires that the individual is capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Position requires the individual to manage one's time efficiently.
  • Position requires that written documentation through an electronic health record must be completed in a timely manner.
  • Position requires flexibility and the ability to prioritize various job functions.
  • Position requires strong clinical documentation skills.
  • Position requires the ability to deal with stressful situations or difficult people.

Transportation:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • If providing services outside of the office setting, the following is also required:
    • Must have clean driving record - DMV check will be performed upon hire.
    • Must provide proof and maintain personal vehicle coverage of $25,000/$50,000 Bodily Injury Liability.
    • Must have a valid Florida Driver's license.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
